NEW DELHI: Phulpur Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh that gave India two prime ministers–Jawaharlal Nehru and V P Singh–may see Priyanka Gandhi Vadra entering the Lok Sabha contest from there as seen by a new poster claiming that she is sure to enter the fray in 2024.
The Congress workers issue the posters to keep themselves in picture. The latest poster terms Priyanka Gandhi as an “aandhi” (storm) and by the side of her is a milestone reading “Phulpur 0 Km.”
Phulpur of Nehru is not that Phulpur now. Earlier it was a rural constituency, but after delimitation, a huge area of Prayagraj city (formerly Allahabad) has become part of the Phulpur constituency.
Though nothing has been suggested by the Congress leaders, hundreds of posters of Priyanka can be seen particularly in the urgan areas as if her name has been announced for this seat. Posters only show how keen are the party workers to force the Congress leadership to field Priyanka to contest from their constituency.
