RAJNATH TO BRIEF MPS ON AGNIPATH ON MONDAY

NEW DELHI: A week ahead of Parliament’s monsoon session, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is slated to brief members of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Defence about various aspects of the recently-launched AGNIPATH scheme, through which recruitment in all three defence services will henceforth take place.

A defence ministry press note says the Defence Secretary, three Service Chiefs and other senior officials of the Ministry of Defence are likely to be present.

In another press note, it says the Army Recruiting Office, Mumbai will be conducting the army recruitment rally at Mumbra in Thane district from September 20 to October 10 at Abdul Kalam Azad Sports Stadium in Kausa valley.

It said the main of this three-week long rally is to generate employment for the youth of Maharashtra, giving them an opportunity to serve the motherland as part of Indian rmy and lead a dignified life.
