NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday declined to enertain a plea on the Shaheen Bagh demolition drive here by the BJP-ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation and asked CPI(M) and other petitioners to better approach Delhi High Court.
Asking the CPI(M) why it filed the petition, the SC said it cannot interfere on the behest of a political party. The court said it would have heard the case if the affected people had come forward and not a political party.
Other petitioners said they were not unauthorised occupants or encroachers as alleged by the municipal corporation.
