NEW DELHI: Is PM Modi blind to the miserable state of the poor struggling with inflation, asked the Congress in one of its tweets on Thursday.

It noted that the essential commodities have become costlier by up to 29% in six months. Referring to the RBI raising its inflation forecast to 6.7% from 5.7% for FY23, The Congress said: “BJP government has failed to provide relief from inflation.”

In another tweet, it said: “The BJP govt is tormenting India with its failed economic policies and inefficient management.”

“They can’t see the dispirited faces.
They can’t feel the pain of millions struggling with their daily lives because of high prices.
They don’t address the problem.
They are the BJP,” the Congress said.

It said the BJP government wants debate on every unncessary issue, but it maintains silence on the inflation. People are harassed by the inflation and the BJP should, therefore, discuss it as an important issue.

On another issue, the Congress tweeted: “To protect the hard-earned pride of our country, BJP’s hate rhetoric cannot be allowed to damage our country’s global interests. Congress will not tolerate and stay silent as the country is left to bear the cost of PM Modi’s fault. BJP defames India.”
