2 LAWYERS AMONG 8 PROPOSED AS BOMBAY HIGH COURT JUDGES

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday proposed appointment of two lawyers as the judges of the Bombay High Court. They are Santosh Govindrao Chapalgaonkar and Milind Manohar Sathaye.

In an earlier meeting on September 7, it had proposed elevation of six judicial officers of Maharashtra as the Bombay High Court judges, namely SAnjay Anandrao Deshmukh, Yanshivraj Gopichand Khorbragade, Mahendra Wadhumal Chandwani, Abhay Sopanrao Waghwase, Ravindra Madhusudan Joshi and Mrs Vrushali @ Shubhangi Vijay Joshi.

On September 12, the collegium also recommended elevation of 9 judicial officers as the Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. They are: Gurbir Singh, Deepak Gupta, Ms Amarjot Bhatt, Ms Ritu Tagore, Ms Manisha Batra, Ms Harpreet Kaur Jeewan, Ms Sukhvinder Kaur, Sanjiv Berry and Vikram Aggarwal.
