NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party is planning organisational changes as part of its Mission 2024, effecting the state presidents in half a dozen states and changes also among the office-bearers.

It has also set the target of winning back the Assembly elections in 11 states prior to the Lok Sabha elections — in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh this year end and in 9 other states — to create a positive outlook for the 2024 general elections.

Most crucial this year end are the Assembly elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh as they are the home states of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and Jagat Prakash Nadda.

The BJP sources said the organising general secretaries are to be changed in four states with an eye on the Lok Sabha elections. The party has already reverted back to the RSS its organising general secretary in Madhya Pradesh Suhas Bhagat, replacing him with his No 2 Hitanand Sharma. The organising secretaries are always borrowed from the RSS.
