NEW DELHI: In a major reshuffle of the Gujarat Congress ahead of the Assembly polls later this year, Congress President Sonia Gandhi appointed new office-bearers of the state party and presidents of 19 district committees to go to the polls with full force.
The changes include 25 vice-presidents, 75 general secretaries, and five protocols.
The party has, however, kept on hold induction of former Chief Minister and ex-union minister Shankar Sinh Vaghela in the Congress and the post of the state president he had sought. Former MP Jagdish Thakor is the Gujarat Congress president and Hardik Patel the working president.
