NEW DELHI: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday said: “High time, PM Modi sacks BJP’s incompetent Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh,” saying this would be the first step to control any further turmoil in the state.
He regretted that the beautiful state of Manipur has been turned into a battlefield, all because of the BJP !
Kharge said for 147 days, people of Manipur are suffering, but PM Modi does not have time to visit the state.
“The horrific images of students being targeted in this violence has once again shocked the entire nation.
“It is now apparent that violence against women and children was weaponised in this strife,” Kharge added.
In response, a blogger cited five reasons why the BJP doesn’t care about Manipur.
These are:
1. There are no immediate elections in Manipur
2. Whatever is happening there is as per the agenda of RSS.
3. Manipur is not going to affect 2024 elections
4. Narrative about Manipur is managed by Media.
5. They are in denial mode, if the PM goes there means acknowledging the problem.
Therefore, he says the BJP does not give a damn to Manipur. Rather they will prefer to manage it through media. The BJP will wait until the problem is forgotten by everyone… just like the Farmers’ strike in Delhi.
