NEW DELHI: Just 10 minutes of heavy rain and thunderstorm on Monday uprooted trees in the Central Delhi and floods jammed the roads even while West Delhi had a dust storm but remained free from rains.
Even the canopy at Vijay Chowk was toppled. as the gusty winds’ speed was 50 km per hour. The rains also brought a much needed relief to Delhites suffering from a sultry morning as the temperature slumped by 16 degree Celsius.
The airport authorities said eight flights were diverted after the heavy rain. There was also a hailsstorm in some parts of the national capital.
