NEW DELHI: India on Wednesday logged in 8,822 Covid-19 infections, an increase of 2,228 over the previous day’s tally and the highest in the past three months while over 87,000 new cases were added in the first 15 days of the month of June.
*******************************************Delhi recorded 1,375 Covid-19 infections in the past 24 hours ending at 8 AM, 23% more than the previous day.

There were also 8 deaths in the past 24 hours, 4 of them in Maharashtra, 2 in Delhi and 1 each in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Accounting for 7 cases in Kerala on the previous days, the Health Ministry reported the death toll of 15. The total death toll in the country touched 5,24,292 while as many as 4,26,67,088 persons recovered from the virus attack.
The active caseload surged further to 53,637, with 3,089 cases registered in 24 hours. The national vaccination reached 195.50 crore, with 13.50 vaccine doses given in the past 24 hours ending 7 AM on Wednesday.
