NEW DELHI: On his nephew Ajit Pawar and once-trusted Praful Patel accusing him of hobnobbing with the BJP, Maratha strongman on Saturday confirmed that “we had discussions with the BJP in 2014, 17 and 19 but I decided not to do so as we did not agree on ideology.
“So we have not done anything wrong in having the debate as it is a part of the process of democracy. The important thing is that I never went with BJP,” he said in a media talk.
Along with this, Sharad Pawar said that I will not discuss what happened in the family. I felt bad that they were all close to me but I have faced such incidents before. I will raise the party again.
He said that no matter what happens in the Election Commission, it will continue to happen. I will continue to work at ground level. Also referring to the opposition, he said that our effort is for opposition unity. There is no guarantee that you will win the election but you must come with an ideology.
