NEW DELHI: Covid continues to rage in India even though the daily infections are now down to 11,499 in 24 hours ending at 8 AM on Saturday, a decrease of 12.6% over the previous day. The daily positivity rate is down to 1.01%
The cumulative death toll went up to 5,13,481, with 255 deaths in 24 hours. Kerala continues to top in terms of 49 deaths in a day, followed by 15 in Krnataka, 12 in Maharashtra and two in Delhi. Jalandhar reported one death and eight fresh Covid-19 cases.
The active caseload stood at 1,21,881 while the total recoveries 42.27 million. It is just 0.28% of the total infections while the recovery stood at 98.52%.
The nationwide vaccination stood at 177.19 crore, with 28.29 lakh getting the vaccine doses in the last one day. A total of 76.57 crore tests have been conducted for the virus, 11.36 lakh of them in the last 24 hours.
