PLEA IN SC ON TARGETED KILLINGS OF HINDUS IN KASHMIR

NEW DELHI: In a letter petition to Chief Justice of India N V Ramana, Supreme Court lawyer Vineet Jindal has urged him to take suo motu cognizance of the alleged targeted killings of Hindus in the Kashmir valley.

He noted that the alleged of female Hindu teacher, Rajni Bala, is the seventh targeted killing in the month of May in Kashmir.

The petition wanted the top court to issue directions to provide adequate security to the Hindu minorities in Kashmir with immediate effect and set up a special delegated unit to structure and administer a system for safety and security of the minorities in Kashmir.

It wanted the National Security Agency (NSA) to probe the recent killings of the Hindu minorities and grant compensation of Rs 1 crore to each of the families of the Hindu victims killed and a government job to one of the members of the families.
