NEW DELHI: Once again on Monday, the Supreme Court refused to intervene in the Maharashtra imbroglio at the moment, saying all decision will be taken on July 11 when the cases are listed.

A vacation bench of Justices Indira Banerjee and J K Maheshwari was approached on behalf of the newly elected Speaker Rahul Narwekar to let the chief whip Bharat Gogawale, nominated by the rebel Shiv Sena group led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, have the role as an impartial arbiter in disputes under the Anti-Defection law which is under scrutiny.

Since the petition of the Thackeray group’s chief whip Sunil Prabhu is already pending before the top court, the court prefers to consider all petitions on July 11 when it opens after summer vacation.
