NEW DELHI: Former bureaucrat-turned Union Minister Yashwant Sinha(84) on Monday filed the nomination for the President’s election on July 18, accompanied by the leaders of 16 political parties.
A surprise support to him came from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), led by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR).
The opposition parties, which backed his nomination, are: Congress, Trinamul Congress, DMK, RJD, Samajwadi Party, NCP, TRS, CPI, CPM, RSP, National Conference, VCK, Shiv Sena, AUDF, RLD and IUML.
