16 PARTIES TO ATTEND INUAUGRATION OF NEW PARLIAMENT HOUSE

NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday claimed all parties are not boycotting the inauguration of the new Parliament House as it listed 16 parties which have agreed to attend the functrion on Sunday as against the boycott by 19 parties.

The parties that have given their consent are BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), National People’s Party of Conrad Sangma, Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party of Chingwang Konyak, Sikkim Krantikari Morcha of Prem Singh Tamang, Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party of Chirag Kumar Paswan, Apna Dal of Anupriya POatel, Republic Party of India of Ramdas Athawale, Tamil Manila Congress of G K Vasan, AIADMK of Edappadi Palaniswami, All Jharkhand Students Union of Sudesh Mahto, Mizo National Front of Zoramthanga, YSRCP of Jagan Mohan Reddy, Telugu Desam Party of N Chandrababu Naidu, Shiromani Akali Dal of Sukhbir Singh Badal and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of Naveen Patnaik.

Ninteen opposition parties who issued a joint statement on Wednesday insisting on the inaugurataion by President Murmu described the list of the attendees as a run-up of the BJP to the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, giving idea of the fight may ultimately turn out to be 19 versus 16 parties in the elections.
